Juan Dominguez is an artist working mainly in the choreography and performing art fields and their extended practices since 1986. He is a performer, choreographer, stage director and curator. He has been involved in more than 40 productions as dancer, performer or dramaturge. While developing all these activities he regularly teaches and coaches students and professionals in the field of choreography (Coach of Master in Performing Arts Practices and Visual Culture UAH / ARTEA 2010. Director of the Laboratory “stage creation and media” Master in Performing Arts Practices and Visual Culture UAH / ART in 2011-2012 …). For different projects he has been working trans-disciplinary with linguists, scientists, architects, and also different art fields. He has been producing his own work since 1992, predicated on questions of the theatre as medium, the parameters of dance: time and space. Exploring the relationship between the different codes, his works advocate the complete dissolution between fiction and reality. He is focusing lately in the independency of art from fashion demands. His work is always forcing the participatory aspect of life art works, it is looking for another kind of responsibility, commitment ad co-authorship in between all the agents involved.

In the last 16 years he has curated different festivals and programs (artistic director of the Festival In-Presentable/La Casa Encendida 2003-13, co-director of Living Room Festival 2010-17, co-curator of Picnic Sessions at C2M-Madrid 2013-15 …, curator of Winter Holiday, Somewhere between Fiction and Reality at Buda Kortrijk 2013, curator of From Fiction to Friction at Foundation Cartier Paris 2013…)
